Jack P. Lewis, Hugo McCord, and Clyde M. Woods were involved in this Bible version, overseen by Stanley Morris’s International Bible Translators. I have this very edition. At $1.99, slightly imperfect, it’s a great deal at CBD.

It’s called the Plain English Bible, given the title in this edition the “Great Book.” Way back when, it was known as the Simple English Bible. I have a 1980 edition under that name.

I do not know if the text has been revised since then. It appears to retain immersion for baptism and congregation for church, among other good simplifications.

See the CBD promotion here. No idea how long it will last.
