Description
O SOUL!
The Book of Exhortations
by J. Randal Matheny
O Soul! is an intentionally uncommon book.
It has no chapters. No titles. No prescribed reading order. It is meant to be opened at will—read briefly or lingered over—returning again and again as one might walk familiar paths in a park.
This volume gathers a series of exhortations addressed to the inner life of the Christian. Each passage speaks directly to the soul, offering both comfort and summons: encouragement joined to responsibility, reassurance paired with resolve.
These exhortations are not speculative or sentimental. They are grounded, scripturally shaped reflections meant to steady the reader, sharpen devotion, and call for renewed faithfulness in ordinary Christian life.
This is a book to be read slowly, revisited often, and used personally. Readers are invited to underline, mark, and reflect—allowing particular exhortations to meet the needs of a given moment.
If you are seeking a devotional companion that takes the life of faith seriously, O Soul! is written for you.
